Yee Gods - It was 38 deg on one of the days during carnival last year but I cannot honestly say I saw THAT many people. Love the Union Jack flag in the 2nd photo - obviously ex-pats trying not to get lost in that sea of bodies. Wish I was there now.

OH MY GODDDD! THAT IS PACKED! Thank goodness my husband is from a small town in Rio! Whoa! We will definitely be avoiding this part of Rio on extremely humid days!!! Thanks for letting me know. I can't wait to go there this summer. Hopefully the beaches won't be as packed when we go. Have you been to any other beaches in Rio?

I wanted all of my visitors to see this who would ask "is this a busy day on the beach?" when there were hardly any people there!

Yes Amela we have been to (and reviewed on the blog) beaches in Santa Caterina, Buzios, Paraty, Ilha Grande, Porto do Galinhas, and the Picinguaba/Ubatuba area. Check out the archives if you get a chance!

Now that is PACKED! So much for trying to sunbathe because no sunlight would get past all of the sun umbrellas.
Imagine trying to find your spot again after a dip in the water. You'd need a GPS or something.
