Maybe it's the fact that so many people are abandoning me leaving Rio these days, or that Mr. DRL and are starting to think about a "departure schedule" of our own (we are currently here indefinitely as he's an employee of a company here, not on contract), but I've become a bit more urgent lately about doing some of the things we've been meaning to do since arriving here but haven't gotten around to. Time FLIES. So we're trying those new restaurants rather than visiting old favorites, and in the past couple of weeks we've visited Visconde de Maua and took in the Rio Feira Antigo (blog posts with tons of pics coming soon on both of those little adventures). I've even resumed taking Portuguese lessons!
It's funny, 90% of the people who were at the Canadoca's baby shower just over a year ago have since left Rio. Most were not planning to leave so soon.
In talking with those who have repatriated, many have regrets on how they spent their time here and wished they had appreciated more of the lifestyle and taken the time to see and do more. In many cases it is those who were unhappiest while here who miss it the most.
So, I've started a bit of a Rio Bucket List - things to do before we peace out (in approximately 18 months, mais ou menos). Any suggestions of what should be on it that I may have missed?
Take the trolley up to Santa Teresa one last time.

Those are just little things that I enjoy. Tough to think of a full list! Can't wait to see it!
Oh, there's a very cool little lagoon/small waterfall in floresta de tijuca. It's great to take the kids on a hot day. Natasha can give you directions

Go to Lençois Maranhenses, Jericoacoara, Ilha de Boipeba, Amazonia, Pantanal, Bahia... You can't decently leave Brasil without discovering those places!
