Very funny = ). I first noticed this when I lived in Fortaleza, every shopping had a chapel, I think most large airports do too. Living in Rio, I don't feel too overwhelmed by Catholicism, however if you open your eyes, a good portion of the stores,restaurants and even banks have a cross, shrine or some homage to a saint. For protection and luck I imagine.
This is kind of funny, but not unheard of in the U.S. I know a smaller mall near me in New Jersey has a chapel. By the way, I really like your blog, keep up the great work!
