    No, they are not big on pj's. When I first arrived I brought 5-6 pairs of pj's or lounge-around pants and every single time I would try to wear them (em casa), my (Brasilian) husband would look at me and say "why are you wearing THAT?". From DKNY to Old Navy...he disliked all of them (RIP PJ'S!). They go for sexy/feminine all the way here.

    I found a cami/boy short pajama set in Cabo Frio for about $40R made of microfiber and I love it, though it is not incredibly conservative like your typical N. American sets. Was actually about half the price of something comparable at Target. A second item to add to this list: Bras!! Unless you are smaller than a C. I found bra shopping to be an awful experience in Rio!

    Most of us are just used with US pj's but once you come to another place, you have to change outfits because fashion in one place isn't similar with another.
