For those not interested in current events in Brazil, I'm sorry for the overload lately but there's just so much to work with these days!
200 semi-nude (and at least one fully nude) cyclists demonstrated against car pollution and dangerous riding conditions in Sao Paulo recently. Although much attention was garnered from motorists etc. the demonstration went without incident - with the exception of the said fully nude rider being arrested. (Probably for their own good... I cannot imagine the chafing - yeah there are a lot of bad things that could potentially happen I think...)
Apparently the "nude" part symbolized how the cyclists feel vulnerable/unprotected vs. motorists who "wear" their cars.
On the group's web site:
"We face automobile traffic with our naked bodies as the best way of
defending our dignity and exposing the unique dangers faced by cyclists
and pedestrians as well as the negative consequences we all face due to
dependence on oil, and other forms of non-renewable energy."
wow...
maybe it's something in the toxic mold around there that causes violent car ramming impulses?
I know I've felt it coming on occasionally.
But wait. The guy was already wearing a helmet. Was this planned or was he psychic? Very strange!!!
