    I'm affraid you're quite mistaken here... (1) We drink coffee all the time, at offices, bank agencies, hospital. All the bakeries have coffee (cafezinho = small portions of very strong coffee)... there are expresso coffee stands everywhere and coffee shops around the town, like Fran's Café, for instance.

    Hi Germano,
    Thank you for your comment. Perhaps I should clarify - the coffee is not to my husband's taste here (it's not that it is hard to find, rather he finds it hard to find any that he enjoys). I hear this from a lot of foreigners, actually, they are surprised by how different the coffee is here. I think if one is used to drinking espresso exclusively back home they would probably be in heaven here, but as I've mentioned I don't touch the stuff so I don't know. I will tell my husband to try out Fran's cafe though, maybe he will find some that he likes.
