Hmmm... Try a vegetarian or macrobiotic restaurant. I don't live in Rio, so... you have to find them. There, usually they will have advertisement or even sell health products. Also, the Mercados (is there a Mercado Central in Rio?), tend to have that sort of natural products stores... Those juices you have mencioned, were completely unknown to me... sorry.

Tell me about it! Being a frequent buyer of food from Trader Joes and Whole Foods, I was left with Mundo Verde in Botafogo as my sole source of "health food"...sadly I didnt think too highly of Mundo Verde, as it contained a lot of fake health food, or shall I say diet food. Not sure if thats changed in the 2 yrs I've been gone, but hopefully someone will decide that Starbucks is less important of an import than a Trader Joes!

Thanks for the suggestions! After checking out Universo Organico, I think it's possible that a true North American-like health food store just doesn't exist here... maybe I should open one up! Or maybe all that acai keeps the Brazilians so healthy that they don't need anything else...
