So about once every two weeks or so we pick up these fantastic rotisserie chickens from the RIo LIsboa Mercado. The place is always packed and frequented by many of Leblon's famous people. I love the chicken, we have the chicken with veggies or salad, sometimes I even make soup out of it. It's a great staple to have in the house with guests as well.
So, imagine my surprise when I was back home to receive a Google Alert about my favorite little chicken place... it was shut down by the health inspector. The full article can be found here, but it seems as though there were pigeons and dirt found in the baking area, a number of refrigeration issues, and my chickens were being washed in some sort of tank.
As of Friday when I took this photo, it was still shut down. (Though it is normally open 24/7).
Mr. DRL figures after a shut down, everything will be super tickety-boo afterwards and we have nothing to worry about. I think he just wants some chicken. What do you think?
