Having visitors has been educational. I learned many new things about Rio and its attractions. Twice last week I visited the Chinese vista in the Tijuca Forest.
Everyone knows about the beautiful views from Corcovado and Sugar Loaf, but I think this is just as spectacular (and closer to the ocean), also less crowded and not at all commercial.
The Tijuca forest also has some beautiful waterfalls.
